Growing up, Joel was fascinated with design and how things worked. Taking apart toys instead of playing with them was all too common. As he got older, he spent much of his adolescence with his father on job sites and at his father’s architectural firm. Being immersed in this world gave Joel an early appreciation for spaces that were full of life, color and a sense of wonder.
Spending the majority of his time outdoors, Joel found comfort in the natural design and balance of nature. He worked and studied with some of the leaders in natural design and build including David Cohen and Laddy Flock (Getty Museum/Los Angeles).
This experience led him to start his first environmental design and build company. Within several years, he had won awards at the prestigious Carmel and San Francisco garden shows and had his work featured in Sunset and Architectural Digest magazines.
After 20 years Joel wanted to focus more on spaces that were not only beautiful but served additional purpose. Taking several years off to study nutrition, natural healing and holistic medicine, alongside permaculture and farming, led Joel to combine this knowledge with his design and build background to create Regen Natural Pools, a design and build company focused on regenerative, healing spaces.
We strive to design and build projects that are harmonious with the surrounding environment and look naturally made.
Specializing in everything from bio pools to koi ponds, from fountains to lakes, we have designed and built every kind of water feature. With over 60 projects created, we have the experience and versatility to create anything you may desire.
No details is too small. From our meticulous stonework to the tonality of our waterfalls, or even the aromatics of the garden, we pay attention to the details.
With extensive experience in steelwork, various concrete applications and pool engineering, we build pools that last. All of our stonework is cemented together with steel reinforcement giving you the assurance that the stonework will last and be secure as you play around your new water feature.

Regen did a site plan and 3D model for our lake house. Joel came out for site supervision during the build process which greatly helped keep the project moving forward and kept the quality at a level that we expected. The design also fit seamlessly with our house and the natural surroundings.

Joel created a unique design for our very challenging site. His creativity throughout the process helped us design the garden, landscape and bio pool we envisioned for our new home without compromising.

I was looking for a natural designer that understood regenerative systems for a low carbon footprint landscape and large natural swimming pool I wanted to build. The expertise and diverse knowledge Joel provided helped me map out the entire project and begin the design process.

Regen Natural Pools created our dream pool. We were wanting something chlorine free and we are so glad we found Joel to do the design & build. The water is always clear and the feeling of the natural water is always very soothing.
